Scheultzie was surrendered to me on Memorial Day weekend. He was covered in 3" of solid mats from nose to tail. He had been sharing a cage with a large dog for some time and was half starved. All his vertebrae were palpable.
As it turned out, Scheultzie had been a well loved house dog at some point. Once he was "uncovered" and well fed, it became obvious that he had house manners, loved to play with toys, and was a "velcro" boy. He quickly began to gain weight and loved to be groomed.
As it always happens, the "just right" new owner was out there waiting - a wonderful lady named Pat with a lovely little schnauzer girl named Mimi.
After spending about a month with us, Scheultzie was adopted by Pat (and Mimi) and is now one happy boy!!!
Another happy ending!!
UPDATE 10/06: I just had the privilege of helping Pat adopt a third furkid named Fritz from the Nebraska Humane Society. Although Fritz needs to gain about 6 pounds - he's been starved - he is a lovely, gentle soul and will fit beautifully into the furfamily. Congratulations Schultzie & Mimi on your new brother!
