Pond Lily Doily No. 1

Materials Required
Aluminum Crochet hook size 10
Small amount each of #20 thread (I used DMC) in:

Color A yellow
Color B light pink
Color C deep pink
Color D white
Color E bright green
Color F light blue
Color G deep green

Special Stitches Required:

Work 1 SC in next stitch, Chain 6, SC in 3rd chain and remaining 3 chains. SC in base of first SC.

Directions
With Color A, (Yellow) Ch 5, sl st to form ring.

Round 1
Ch 1, work 18 SC in ring. Join with sl st to first SC.

Round 2
*Work rag stitch, SC in next SC. Repeat from * around (total of 9 rag stitches). Join with slip stitch to first SC.

Round 3
CH 4, and pushing next 2 petals toward you out of way, SC in between 2nd and 3rd petal on previous row. *CH 4, skip 2 petals, SC in stitch before next petal on previous row. (You are creating ch-4 loops behind petals on previous row) Repeat from * around, slip stitch to first SC. You should have nine ch-4 loops with the petals in front of them.

Round 4
Work 3 rag stitches in next ch-4 loop around. Join with slip stitch to first stitch. (27 rag stitches). Fasten off Color A, attach Color B (Light Pink).

Round 5
With Color B, working behind petals, *Ch 6, SC in between next two ch-4 loops on row 3. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch. You should have nine chain-6 loops on the back side of work.

Round 6
In first ch-6 loop work: SC, Ch 1, HDC, CH 1, DC, Ch 1, TRC, ch 1, DTR, ch 1, ch 3, SC in top of DTR just made; ch 1, DTR, ch 1, TRC, ch 1, DC, ch 1, HDC, ch 1, SC (one petal made). Work one petal in each ch-6 loop around; join with slip stitch to first SC. Break off pink. Attach Color C (deep pink).

Round 7
With Color C, *ch 7, push next petal toward you out of way and SC, Ch 3, SC between next 2 petals. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first SC. (you should have nine chain-7 loops and eight ch-3 loops on back of work).

Round 8
CH 1, in ch-3 loop work: SC, ch 1, HDC, ch 1, DC; ch 2, SC in top of DC just made; Ch 1, DC, CH 1, HDC, CH 1, SC. In next ch-7 loop work: SC, ch 1, HDC, ch 1, DC, ch 1, TRC, ch 1, DTR, ch 1; CH 3, SC in top of DTR just made; Ch 1, DTR, ch 1, TRC, ch 1, DC, ch 1, HDC, ch 1, SC. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch. Break off Color C. Attach Color D (white).

Round 9
With Color D, *Chain 10, SC between next small petal and large petal. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch. You should have nine ch-10 loops.

Round 10
*In next ch-10 loop work: sc, ch 1; (HDC, ch 1) twice; (DC, ch 1) twice; (TRC, ch 1) twice; (DTR, Ch 1) twice; CH 4, SC in top of DTR just made, ch 1. (DTR, ch 1) twice; (TRC, ch 1) twice; (DC, ch 1) twice; (HDC, ch 1) twice; SC. Repeat from * around, 9 petals. Join with slip stitch to first stitch. Break off color D, attach color E (bright green)

Round 11 (Leaf)

*With Color E, Ch 8, slip stitch in tip of petal. Ch 8, slip stitch between base of petal and next petal. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch.

Round 12
*In next ch-8 loop work: 2 SC, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 TRC, 2 DTR. Ch 4, SC in top of last DTR just made. In next ch-8 loop work 2 DTR, 2 TRC, 2 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch. Break off color E. Attach color F (light blue)

Round 13 (Pond)

With Color F, *work slip stitch over SC's, SC over HDC's, HDC over DC's, DC over TRC's, TRC over DTR's. Work 8 DTR's in ch-4 at point of petal. Continue down other side of petal working in same manner - TRC's over DTR's, DC over TRC's, HDC over DC's, SC over HDC's, Slip Stitch over SC's. Repeat from * around on each of 9 petals.

Round 14
*Work slip stitch over SC's, SC over HDC's, HDC over DC's, DC over TRC's. Work 3 DTR's over each DTR. Continue down other side of petal working in same manner - TRC's over DTR's, DC over TRC's, HDC over DC's, SC over HDC's, Slip Stitch over SC's. Repeat from * around on each of 9 petals. Break off Color F, attach color G (deep green)

Round 15
With Color G, *work rag stitch, SC in next stitch. Repeat from * around edges of each petal. Finish off weaving in all ends.

Alternate Ending:

Round 13 (Pond)
Attach color E to tip of any point. *Chain 18, SC in point of next leaf. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch.

Round 14
*In next ch-18 loop work: (SC, HDC, DC, TRC, DTR, TRC, DC, HDC and SC) 3 times. Repeat from * around, join with slip stitch to first stitch.
