Megan, or "Meggie," came to us from another rescue in the area which was boarding her at a veterinary clinic. She had been seized from a neglect situation in a home with too many animals. Although the rescue volunteer was able to take Megan on a visit to her farm now and then, Maggie as she is now called had to spend most of her time in a cage for a long time. Maggie is 13 years young but is quite the frisky little thing! She is only slightly sight and hearing impaired and definitely has her wits about her! Sheryl and Bob, two of my wonderful volunteers, saw Maggie's picture and decided her place was with them. She took a journey with a friendly helpful cat rescuer named Tina, charming TIna's mom along the way, to Des Moines, Iowa. There she met Sheryl, her forever mom.
Last I heard, Maggie had fit in quite nicely - was eating lots of high quality dog treats, and esconcing herself as the Elderly Princess! She joins brothers Buddy and Baxter, and sister Lily Rose. Congratulations Maggie - you are in the best place I can think of to live out your sunset years, dearest!!
10/06 - Update on Maggie - she went to Rainbow Bridge in September 2006 after a brave battle with cancer. We are so glad her last year was such a good one!
