Note: The doily shown above is worked in a microfiber thread larger than size 10. I have also made this doily in size 10 thread with a size 7 hook, and in size 20 thread with a size 10 hook.

ch 8, join with sl st to form ring

Round 1
Ch 6, TRC in ring (counts as first tr + ch2); *ch 2, TRC in ring* 11 times. Join to 4th ch of first ch-6 with sl st.

Round 2
*ch 4, SC in next TRC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st to base of first ch-4.

Round 3
Sl st in next loop, ch 1, SC in same loop; *Ch 2, SC-Ch4-SC in next loop; Ch 2, SC in next loop. Repeat from * around, join to top of first SC. Your piece should now be hexagon shaped (6-sided).

Round 4
Ch 1, SC in SAME STITCH as ch-1. (This technique will begin rows throughout).

*Ch 3, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 3, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with slst to top of first SC.

Round 5
Ch 1, SC in SAME STITCH as ch-1. (This technique will begin rows throughout).

*Ch 4, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 4, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 6
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.. (This technique will begin rows throughout).

*Ch 5, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 5, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 7
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 6, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 6, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 8
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 7, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 7, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with slst to top of first SC.

Round 9
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 8, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 8, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 10
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 9, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 9, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 11
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 10, SC-CH4-SC in next loop; Ch 10, SC in between "prongs" of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 12
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 4, in next ch-10 loop work SC, CH 3, SC, CH 4. In next Ch-4 loop work SC, CH 4, SC. Ch 4, in next ch-10 loop work SC, Ch 3, SC, CH4. Work SC in between Prongs of next SC. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 13
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 5, work SC, Ch 4, SC in next ch-4 loop. Ch 5, work SC, ch 3, SC in next Ch-3 loop; CH 4, work SC in between prongs of next SC; ch 4, work SC, Ch 3, SC in next CH-3 loop. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Round 14
Ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch you just joined into.

*Ch 6, work SC, Ch 4, SC in next ch-4 loop. Ch 6, work SC, ch 3, SC in next Ch-3 loop; CH 4, work SC in between prongs of next SC; ch 4, work SC, Ch 3, SC in next CH-3 loop. Repeat from * around, join with sl st inside prongs of first SC.

Final Round-Edging
ch 1, SC in prongs of stitch just joined into. *Ch 3, SC in next loop OR ch-4 space 4 times; Ch 3, SC in ch-10 space 3 times; ch 3, SC in next Ch4 loop; Ch 3, SC in ch-10 space 3 times; ch 3, SC in next loop OR ch-4 space 3 times; ch 4, SC in between prongs of next SC. Repeat from * around, fasten off. Weave in loose end with tapestry needle.
