Cupcake Base
CH 6, join with sl st to form ring.
Round 1
CH 2, Work 12 DC in ring. Join with sl st to first DC.
Round 2
CH 2, work 2 DC in each DC around. Join to first DC. Fasten off.
Cupcake Holder Side
Row 1
CH 11, work 1 SC in each CH across. Ch 1, turn
Row 2
SC in back look of each stitch across. CH 1, turn.
Repeat row 2 until you have 20 rows.
Do not fasten off.
Join long edge of side to outer edge of base. Then join ends of side together. Fasten off.
Cupcake Top
String several pretty beads of your choice on thread first. Figure
5-10 beads, just your preference!
Ch 5, join with SL ST to form ring.
Round 1
Ch 3, SC in ring 5 times; join with sl st to first stitch.
Round 2
Slip stitch in first ch-3 loop. ch 2; Work 4 DC in ch-3 loop.
Remove hook, insert hook through first DC of group, insert hook
in dropped loop, thread over, pull through two loops (popcorn
made). CH 2, work second 5 DC popcorn in same loop, ch 2. *Work
5 DC cluster-ch2-5 DC cluster in next ch-3 loop, ch 2. Repeat
from * around, join to back of first popcorn. Should have 12
popcorns.
Round 3
Slip stitch in next ch-2 loop, ch 2. Work 4 DC and make popcorn;
ch 2, make second popcorn in same loop, ch 3; *Work 5 DC cluster-ch2-5
DC cluster in next ch-3 loop, ch 3. Repeat from * around, join
to back of first popcorn. Fasten off.
Christmas Star
Suggest small amount of #10 crochet thread and size
7 hook but other appropriate size
hook/thread combinations may be used. You will need 20 beads of
your choice. Make sure hole
in beads is large enough for crochet thread to string through.
String beads onto crochet thread.
CH 6, join with sl st to form ring.
Round 1
Work 10 SC in ring, join with sl st to first SC.
Round 2
*CH 5, add bead as you SC in first chain from hook. SC in next
CH, HDC in next 2 CH, DC in
next CH. Skip 2 SC on previous round, SC in next SC. Repeat from
* around, join.
Round 3
*CH 4, SC in stitch between next 2 petals. Repeat from * around,
join.
Round 4
*In next CH-4 loop, work: SC, HDC, DC, TRC; CH 2, CH 1 to add
bead, CH 2, SC in top of
TRC. TRC, DC, HDC, SC in same loop. Repeat from * around, join.
Round 5
*CH 6, SC in HDC after next petal. CH 4, SC in next HDC (beginning
of next petal). Repeat
from * around, join.
Round 6
In next Ch-6 loop work: SC, HDC, DC, TRC, DTR; ch 2, ch1 to add
bead, ch 2; SC in top of
DTR; DTR, TR, DC, HDC and SC in same loop. CH 4, SC in next SC.
Repeat from * around,
join.
Round 7
SC in next SC, CH75, SC in next SC. Repeat from * around, join.
Round 8
In next Ch-7 loop work: SC, HDC, DC, TRC, DTR; CH 3, ch 1 to add
bead, CH 3, SC in top of
DTR. Work DTR, TRC, DC, HDC, and SC in same loop. CH 7, SC in
next SC. Repeat from *
around, join.
Finishing:
Weave in ending thread. Attach string for hanging.
